Bus Rides to Sibenik & Zadar

I started off the day with an early morning run, ended doing about 4 miles along the waterfront in Split.  I have only done 3 runs on this trip, but hope to do better as my trip moves a slower pace when I leave Croatia.  I also took a few pictures of the fish market on the way to the bus station.

I took the 8:30 am bus to Sibenik which is an 1.5 hour trip, it wasn't very crowded as it was a holiday in Croatia (May Day).  I left my luggage at the bus station & headed into the older section of town.  Sibenik has a nice seafront area with some restaurants & outdoor cafes.

I headed first to the famous St. James cathedral, which was built in the 14th century.  The inside of the church is very impressive.

I headed next to St. Michael's fortress which overlooks the city.  It has some great views of the town & has an ampitheater inside.  I walked a little more around town, before stopping for a sandwich & some gelato.

I got on the 2:15 bus to Zadar for the 1 hour & 20 minute trip, only 4 people were on the bus.  I was met at the Zadar bus station by the father (who didn't speak English) of the owner of the apartment where I am staying for 2 nights.  The place is nice, but about a 25 minute walk from town.  Probably should have stayed closer to town.  I am going spend most of my day tomorrow in old town & along the seafront.
