It was a short 10 minute trip on the tram to the bus station for the bus to Cesky Krumlov. I arrived about an hour early & gradually the waiting area filled up with Asian tourists. I think 90% of the passengers on the bus were Asians. The name of the bus company is weird, it is called the student agency. You don't have to be a student to use it though, not sure of the story behind the company name. The buses are brand new with a stewardess on board & there are seat back monitors with TV, movies, etc., which was good to drown out the Asian tourists talking loudly on the bus. The 3 hour trip was good with only 3 stops & the round trip ticket was only $16.
My 4 room hotel in Cesky Krumlov was a quick 5 minute walk from the bus station. The room was a little small, but nice for $25 per night. The town is in the southern part of the Czech Republic & has about 15,000 residents. Lots of day trippers come here from Austria & Prague. The town is nice & is known for its castle. I spent about 4 hours touring the castle & town. I found a nice place for lunch, but dinner was little more challenging since many places were reserved for tour groups.
I usually schedule at least one or two nights in a smaller town on every trip to get a break from spending all my time in big cities. Overall, the trip to Cesky Krumlov was good except for dealing all of the Asian tourists. The ones I have run across on this trip are the rudest & most self absorbed group of people I have ever seen.
I have a long travel day to Ostrava tomorrow starting with a 7:00 am bus. My reason for going to Ostrava is to attend the Golden Spike track meet. It looks to be a good meet with Usain Bolt & David Rudisha competing.
