I started off the morning with a 5 mile run along the waterfront & through the old town. I noticed that they were setting up for a road race, it looked pretty big as there was a large packet pickup area.
After finishing up my run & getting some breakfast, I headed back to old town on a nice 25 minute walk along the waterfront. I did the obligatory tower climb & got some pictures of the city.
Then I took a walk along the seafront. I noticed someone heading toward me that looked familiar. He had green glasses, green shoes, & green pants. It was the "green man" from the airport in Sarajevo, unfortunately my camera was in my bag so I didn't get a picture of him. Crazy that I see the same guy in another town 250 miles away from Sarajevo. Hopefully he is not following me around Europe.
I walked around town some more & had a quick lunch before heading back to the apartment.
I went back to the old town to watch the sunset, it is supposed to be one of the best ones in the world. Unfortunately it was cloudy & the sunset wasn't so great, but I did manage to get a few shots of the town just after sunset.
Overall I liked Zadar, but did a lot walking since I stayed 2 miles from downtown.
Tomorrow is going to be one of the highlights of my trip. I am going to Plivitice Lakes National Park, there is an express bus that takes 1 hour 45 minutes to reach the park from Zadar.
the green man reminds me Bono from U2.
ReplyDeleteThe B&W photo with the motorbike looks like something I could blow up and put on my wall. I REALLY need some new art!
You're setting a pretty fast pace so far. I'll bet you're looking forward to slowing down just a bit.
